They would have acted for months and stole dozens of funeral items.
A mother and her daughter, aged 70 and 50 respectively, were caught on Saturday January 8 in the act of theft in the small cemetery of the Grille Dorée, in Amboise, near Tours.

this Wednesday by the departmental company of gendarmerie of Amboise.

It is a small GPS tracker, placed by a family under one of the objects of a grave, which allowed their arrest.
“
The family called us to tell us that they were seeing movement on the object where the snitch was located.
We went there and we came face to face with these two women, their arms laden with objects
, ”says Commander Hugues Lître, still a little surprised by this unusual affair.
"Trinkets rarely worth more than fifteen euros"
The two defendants, who share accommodation in Loches, about thirty kilometers south of Amboise, were immediately taken into police custody and their homes searched.
The gendarmes then found a whole bunch of objects there which could be likened to the looting of graves in various cemeteries of the department.
“At this stage of the investigation, it is still difficult to define which objects have been stolen and which belong to them
,” said Commander Livez.

In all likelihood, the two women resold the stolen objects in flea markets or on classified ads sites between individuals.
“
We are not talking about objects of great value.
Rather, they are trinkets rarely worth more than fifteen euros
, ”notes Hugues Lître.
The town hall of Amboise calls on victims to report to its services or the gendarmerie.
A call to witnesses should also be released soon with photos of the various objects found in the two accused.
