The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Vahid Jalalzadeh, stressed that the priority of the Iranian delegation in the Vienna negotiations with the international community is to reach a permanent agreement in the interest of his country.
Jalalzadeh said in a statement to the Iranian news agency IRNA today, "Although our priority and goal is to reach a permanent agreement, we must recognize that the temporary agreement does not harm the law of the strategic initiative to abolish the embargo and protect national interests," explaining that "this agreement is under study and has not been implemented." Accept it or reject it yet.”
Jalalzadeh indicated that the United States unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear agreement without paying political and economic compensation, and therefore reaching any agreement requires fulfillment of obligations by all parties.
He stressed that Iran does not trust the Western parties because of their non-compliance with their obligations under the previous agreement, calling on them to take effective steps to resolve outstanding issues and abide by the commitments that will be reached.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Tehran is seeking, in the Vienna nuclear negotiations, to reach a sustainable and reliable agreement that guarantees the lifting of the embargo imposed on it.
