The first major section of the tunnel project should be completed in a few months - the so-called northern inlet.

In the course of the year there are also plans to lay a thick power cable across the city, which will first supply the drill and then other consumers.

Starnberg

- The work on the northern access route, the connection of the B 2 (Münchner Straße) to the later tunnel, is expected to continue from April.

There is no longer much that needs to be done.

In the course of the year, however, there will be further construction sites along the tunnel road, as the state building authority in Weilheim announced yesterday.

But the agency puts a lot of work into other things.

■ Münchner Strasse:

Depending on the weather, the State Building Authority plans to tackle the last section of the northern approach, the section between Gautinger Strasse and the railway bridge, in April. Work begins on the south side at the Esso petrol station. Around May, the road surface between Moosstrasse and the railway bridge is due to be renewed. "This will bring the greatest traffic restrictions," said the authority. Details should be announced in good time. The construction of the central island on Münchner Strasse at Gautinger Strasse will be completed in the first half of the year. They make it impossible to turn onto Gautinger Straße from the direction of Tutzinger-Hof-Platz, turn onto Uhdestraße from Munich or cross from Uhde- to Gautinger Straße - and from Gautinger and Uhdestraße you will only be able to turn right. The island has always been part of the planning to ensure a faster flow of traffic in and out of the tunnel - if there were traffic lights there, it might back up. Everything should be ready from July, then some remaining work will follow.

■ Power line:

The tunnel boring machine, which is around 160 meters long and drills the tube under the city from the south, requires its own, correspondingly strong power supply. The state building authority announced that Bayernwerk will lay a line from the north station across the city to the interim storage facility near Neusöcking. Most of the costs are borne by the supplier because the line is then needed for other customers. The drilling machine itself will only be assembled in front of the south portal in a few years.

■ Divisional relocation:

In spring, the laying of supply and disposal lines on the B2 in the area of the north portal at the level of the railway bridge.

Reason: "This work prepares the construction site for the upcoming renewal of the railway bridge in 2023 and creates a free construction site at the north portal."

■ Signage:

A large LED notice board is expected to be erected at the Maxhof roundabout in the second quarter and will remain in place permanently.

During the construction of the tunnel, according to the building authority, they should “quickly and easily inform about scheduled traffic restrictions in the Starnberg pass through work on the B 2 Starnberg tunnel”.

Once the tunnel has been released, the sign serves as an indication of its operation.

■ Plan change procedure

: A plan change procedure has been going on for months due to some changes to the plans, including for security based on the fire brigade requirements, and due to updated building specifications.

Most recently, the Weilheim authority had been working on documents for the water management office.

It is foreseeable that there will be a further interpretation of the documents in the spring of 2022 because some have been supplemented.

When there will be a decision is an open question - and without this decision, no building can take place.

■ Further planning:

The State Building Authority continues to prepare everything in order to be able to start immediately after a plan change decision has been issued.

This is how the tender documents are put together - they contain every detail of the entire project

■ Citizen information:

In January, the Weilheim authority has all households in the core city of Starnberg (along the tunnel route) supplied with a flyer that provides information about the evidence preservation process. The condition of houses is recorded in order to later identify any damage caused by the construction. The information center at the district office is on break for the time being, questions can be put to z (08 81) 99 00, by e-mail to teamtunnelstarnberg@stbawm.bayern.de or via Facebook (@teamtunnelstarnberg).

■ Conclusion 2021:

According to the authorities, the work last year went satisfactorily and has brought great progress, such as the clearance of Petersbrunner Strasse or the completion of the work at the intersection of Moosstrasse / Münchner Strasse / Perchastrasse.

The implementation competition for portals and emergency exits went well, this year a team of architects is to be commissioned with the final planning (we reported).

All drafts can be found on stbawm.bayern.de (road construction, projects, Starnberg tunnel).
