Opinion | Corona treatment? Bennett Fails Diligent Failure Israel today

2022-01-12T21:46:27.353Z

Until the change of government a few months ago, Israel was in first place in the world in the rate of immunization among its citizens • Today, almost all European countries have overtaken us

In recent weeks Naftali Bennett has been leading us with wide eyes towards collapse.

The Prime Minister opened his speech this week by declaring that he is not hysterical. Those who, on the other hand, are hysterical, in his opinion, are the media channels that publish news of a serious crisis that is imminent. Who should the public believe in this matter?

The Bennett government begins any discussion on the corona in marking V for having managed to maintain an open economy. But what does an open economy mean when millions become sick in these moments? Does this not mean the actual closure and dysfunction of all life systems? Expert estimates are 100,000 contagious per day. All of these are eroding the "open economy" because 4-2 million will be infected by the current wave, and the minimum requirement is to reduce contact as much as necessary. The resounding failure registered in the name of this government is on the issue of vaccines.

Until the change of government a few months ago, Israel was in first place in the world in the rate of immunization among its citizens. Today almost all European countries have overtaken us. In France the unvaccinated rate is 25.4 percent, in Israel the unvaccinated rate is 35 percent. Israel, under Bennett's leadership, has deteriorated from first place to one of the last places in the Western world. Why did this situation have to be reached? It is clear to us that Bennett's argument would be that Netanyahu is to blame. After breathing for a moment, the question still remains as to why such a failed management of Bennett endangers thousands of people and puts many more at risk of disability? Bennett's outspoken statement "Go get vaccinated" is not a substitute for a government policy to combat the plague that is about to paralyze the country.

It is clear to me the position of French President Emmanuel Macron, who tells his citizens directly that his government's immunization strategy is to "make life bitter" for people who have not been vaccinated against the corona. Macron stands before the French nation and openly says that his government is committed to putting pressure on the unvaccinated and restricting their access to activities in society as much as possible. The unvaccinated will not be able to enter public places in France - no work, no entertainment, no planes and no trains. An active and unequivocal closure for those who refuse to be vaccinated. This is a proper and correct government policy. Bennett hesitates, stands out, knows and understands that there is no cohesive government behind him, and the terrible price will be paid by the citizens of Israel.

Bennett knows for sure that the education system is collapsing. In fact, one thing is quite clear: no one knows what the infection data in the education system is. Among other things, because the official data do not include verified students who have been tested in home tests. Nearly 20 percent of all students were directly affected, and the numbers are climbing. Why are most of them not vaccinated? Why were no preliminary moves made to stop the spread of the corona among the students? The simple answer that comes out of Bennett's pocket is: Netanyahu is guilty of a hint of responsibility.

However, anyone who looks at the education system understands that the Minister of Education, Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, has failed. In mid-December, a few days before the outbreak of the latest epidemic, she honorably fired her director general of the Ministry of Education, Yigal Slovik.

In relation to him, Shasha Bitton also agrees that he has done a very good job in promoting vaccines.

The dismissed director general, however, claims that "the minister wanted to run the Ministry of Education as if there was no corona in the world."

I believe that Bennett will prefer to continue to give backing to the failure of the leadership of the education system and will not lead to a move that will be good with the health of hundreds of thousands of students.

The policy of unbridled openness is a policy of raising a white flag of the government, which fears unpopular decisions.
