It was three years ago. On Saturday January 12, shortly before 9 a.m., a violent explosion resounded in the district of rue de Trévise (IXe). The explosion of a gas pipe killed four people, including two firefighters, injured 66 and deprived 400 people of roofs. This Wednesday morning, victims, residents and elected officials gathered in front of the gutted building of number 6 to commemorate the third anniversary of this tragedy forever engraved in the memory and which still leaves deep scars in this sector, located at two steps from the Grands Boulevards and the Folies Bergères (9th century). The presidents of victims' associations, Dominique Paris (Treviso Ensemble) and Linda Zaourar (Vret), spoke in turn of “this endless day”, “the end of the tunnel”.

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, an agreement was reached to compensate the victims after months of battle.

But the relief of finally seeing this legal imbroglio on the way to being overcome did not alleviate the suffering of the victims or extinguish their anger.

Evidenced by their boos when Anne Hidalgo, who attended the commemoration of the drama for the first time, deposited, tense and without a tricolor scarf, a wreath, alongside his first deputy Emmanuel Grégoire, before leaving, without making a speech.

"Outrageous, contemptuous", loose a victim in the crowd.

The mayor of Paris was booed when she laid a wreath.

It was Alexandra Cordebard, the mayor (PS) of the neighboring 10th arrondissement, who was visibly responsible for carrying the message of the mayor of Paris: “It is important that we remain united and committed to ensure that most of you find liberation and the vision of happiness and reconstruction which is still distant for some ”.

Delphine Bürkli, the mayor (DVD) of the IXth, present alongside the victims from the first hour of the tragedy, did not wish to take part in the controversy and simply paid tribute to the missing, the injured, the victims as well as the two presidents of associations whose daily commitment she praised.

She also welcomed the presence for three years of Frédérique Calandra, interministerial delegate for victim assistance and former mayor of the twentieth (LREM, ex PS).

Before concluding with a message of hope.

"Soon, I hope so, you will finally put all of your victim's clothes away, this story that sticks to your skin, because you all aspire to get on with your life.

But you will never forget those who lost it.
