The World Health Organization monitored a large outcome of Corona virus infections during the past week, as it recorded more than 15 million infections, which represents an increase of 55 percent compared to the previous week.

In its weekly epidemiological bulletin, the organization indicated that during the past week, it received reports of 15,451,666 infections and 43,461 deaths from the Corona virus, which is 55 percent more cases and 3 percent more deaths than the numbers recorded in the previous week between the 27th of December and the 2nd of January.

The bulletin indicated that Europe recorded an increase in injuries by 31 percent, followed by America by 78 percent, and the Eastern Mediterranean region exceeded it with an increase of 86 percent.

The number of deaths increased significantly in Africa by 84 percent and in America by 26 percent, while the death rate decreased in Europe by 10 percent, in Southeast Asia by 6 percent and in the eastern Mediterranean by 11 percent.

The bulletin indicated that as of the day before yesterday, 30,845,8509 injuries and 5,492,595 deaths had been recorded in the world since the outbreak of the epidemic.

The world is recently witnessing a significant increase in the number of infections with the Corona virus, with the spread of the highly contagious Omicron mutant.
