Zhou Haoding of the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong is concerned about the long queues at various testing sites in Tuen Mun, referring to the increase of 7 testing sites in the Tuen Mun area. There are currently 10 testing centers in the area, but there are still long queues this morning, reflecting the lack of testing facilities .
In the afternoon, Zhou Haoding, together with representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions and the New Democracy Party, held a cross-party joint video conference, and met with Xu Deyi, deputy director of the Food and Health Bureau, to discuss how to deal with the long queues at the Tuen Mun testing site.
Cross-partisan videoconference calls for visits to smaller testing centers in the district
Zhou Haoding and political party representatives urged the government to add more testing centers in the Tuen Mun district and open more community halls for testing to meet the large demand for testing. Arrange manpower outside the center to help appeal and notify residents to go to other testing centers with less crowds in the district, and suggest that the government arrange for the system to report the waiting time of testing centers in various districts in Hong Kong in real time, so that residents can choose to go to testing centers in different districts for acceptance detection.
Zhou Haoding said that according to what he had learned from the authorities, the three Tuen Mun testing centers tested more than 11,000 people in total yesterday (11th). He asked the authorities to evaluate the total number of people who need compulsory testing according to the records in Anxin Travel, and make an appropriate number of tests. The testing center responds and focuses on the current needs of Tuen Mun.
