In recent weeks, contacts have been taking place between Netanyahu and the State Attorney's Office over a plea deal in the trial against the former prime minister, according to sources quoted in detail.

The contacts lasted a long time and took place under complete secrecy, with few sharing the secret.

Recently, contacts exploded against the background of Netanyahu's uncompromising demand that the punishment not include imprisonment or disgrace.

It is not known who represented Netanyahu in the contacts, but on the part of the State Attorney's Office, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit conducted the contacts, and they took place against the background of the end of his impending term.

The State Attorney's Office responded: "We do not respond as a policy to questions about conversations with defense attorneys, whether they have been or not. This does not confirm or deny anything of what has been alleged."

Netanyahu's response will be brought when it is received.
