The meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Culture building in Damascus today, discussed the reality of the Syrian film industry, the obstacles facing this industry, and the need to activate private film production.
The meeting, which was attended by members of the Film Industry Committee, addressed the necessity of providing a package of facilities to motivate private sector producers to produce at least one film annually that presents a set of Syrian social values in its content.
The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushouh, called for activating the partnership between all sectors producing cinematic films at the local level, to reach the main goal of supporting the film producer to turn it into a tributary of the national economy, community development and consolidation of presence in Arab forums.
Mouchouh discussed with the participants in the meeting the setting of cultural requirements related to intellectual content, the prevention of piracy and the protection of intellectual property rights, in addition to the possibility of preparing technical and technical studies to improve the investment of cultural centers.
To compensate for the shortage of halls and cinemas, and the contribution of the media, advertising and marketing of cinematic films within the available capabilities.
The attendees also presented plans and proposals to advance the reality of the film industry, create an umbrella for film script writers, and spread cinematic culture in general, especially in school and university education stages.
