Sixth grade students at a school in New York were given an assignment for their Spanish class in which they had to translate sentences into English.
One of them said: "You are Mexican and ugly", which translates as "you are Mexican and ugly".
Officials from the Williamsville Central School District condemned any material that denigrates their students, their families and their culture.
