The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the first units of the Russian landing forces from the CSTO forces left the Almata airport for the point of permanent deployment.

"The first units of the Russian paratroopers of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization of Kazakhstan loaded equipment onto the military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and flew from the Almata airport to the point of permanent deployment," the service said.

The service confirmed that four Il-76 military transport aircraft will transport units of Russian paratroopers to the Ivanovo region.

Last week, the Collective Security Treaty Organization sent peacekeepers to Kazakhstan to help it protect vital installations and restore security.
