The “Shows in Memory” event, held by the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, replayed the play “Repetition” on a giant screen at Saadallah Wannous Theater at the institute.
The play that the class of 2016 presented in the Acting Department as a graduation project under the supervision of artist Bassam Koussa was re-presented within this event with the aim of restoring and identifying theatrical experiences and in honor of the efforts of creators who left their mark in the memory of the students of the Institute of Performing Arts.
The play dealt with three periods of time, extending from the Middle Ages in Paris through modern history to the present time, to present the story of two wealthy young men who propose to two young sisters who are the daughters of a corrupt man of modern grace. What he possesses of good morals and knowledge, not what he has of money.
Regarding the event and its educational goals, Dr. Tamer Al-Arbeed, Dean of the Institute, said in a statement to SANA: “The Shows in Memory event comes within the Institute’s educational plan for several goals, including building theatrical memory for our students and celebrating the efforts of creative graduates in various batches, in addition to the fun and knowledge that these performances bring to students. It contributes to enriching our academic curriculum.”
And he indicated that the demonstration will not stop at the presentations of graduation batches of the institute's students, but rather it will present performances from the memory of the Syrian theater to be with the Creative Forum a visual and cognitive memory for students.
