B318 / Holzkirchen: Daring truck turning maneuver causes an accident

On the B318 near Holzkirchen, a truck driver provoked an accident with a dangerous turning maneuver.

A truck driver's daring turning maneuver caused an accident on the B318 near Holzkirchen on Wednesday.

Balance: one injured person and 40,000 euros in property damage.

- The daring maneuver of a truck driver caused an accident with an injured person on Wednesday around 10:35 a.m.

According to the police, a 61-year-old truck driver from Langenbach wanted to drive from Holzkirchen over the threading strip onto the B318 in the direction of Tegernsee.

He then noticed, however, that he actually wanted to drive in the other direction towards the autobahn.

Without further ado, the 61-year-old decided to do a turning maneuver on the main road.

The man drove the truck across both lanes and overlooked a car driver (31) coming from the autobahn from Munich, who was traveling on the B318 in the direction of Tegernsee.

According to the police, the 31-year-old was still trying to avoid the truck standing sideways, but collided head-on with the left side of the vehicle.

The truck driver was slightly injured in the collision.

Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.

The Munich-based BMW was so badly damaged that it was no longer roadworthy.

The same applied to the truck, which also had to be towed.

According to the police, property damage totaled around 40,000 euros.

Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 61-year-old for endangering road traffic.
