The local council in Ashrafieh Sahnaya, in coordination with the Directorate of Agriculture in Damascus Countryside, is implementing a project to rehabilitate and beautify the southern entrance node of the old Damascus-Daraa road located at the entrance to the town, where the implementation rates, according to those concerned, exceeded 80 percent.
The head of the council, Aghid Muhanna, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the rehabilitation and beautification work of the node is continuing, and it extends over an area of more than 40 dunums, and the implementation rates have reached about 80 percent, and it includes the maintenance and rehabilitation of bisects, sidewalks, and roundabouts, and planting green areas with various types of trees, including olives, palms, oleanders, Aleppo pines and other trees.
Muhanna mentioned that the works will include in the later stages the implementation of an alternative energy entrance lighting project and asphalting the streets.
In parallel with the rehabilitation work, a afforestation campaign was launched today at the same site, including the planting of about two thousand seedlings, in which civil and official activities participated.
The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, participated in the afforestation campaign.
