The number of new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has continued to rise.

The seven-day incidence rose by 5.7 points to 426.2, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) in Rostock announced on Thursday.

The hospitalization incidence - the number of Covid-19 patients admitted to hospitals within a week per 100.

Rostock - 000 inhabitants - on the other hand continued to decline;

by 0.5 points to 5.6.

1,291 new infections were counted on Thursday, after 1,191 a week earlier.

The hospitalization incidence has now been below the threshold of 9 for the fifth day in a row, so the weighted map of the lagus is no longer colored red nationwide.

If it was orange in the last four days, it even changed to yellow on Thursday.

According to the Corona state ordinance, the relaxed rules of the orange traffic light level will apply from Saturday.

At the weekend, cinemas, theaters, amusement parks, museums and the interiors of zoos, among other things, can open again.

Guests who have been vaccinated or have recovered and who can show a current negative quick test (2G plus) can then be received there again.

Anyone who has already received a booster vaccination is exempt from this test requirement.

In a nationwide comparison, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had the seventh highest value for the seven-day incidence after Bremen, Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Brandenburg and Hesse (Robert Koch Institute/Thursday morning).

In the risk-weighted classification of the districts and urban districts, the traffic lights showed yellow for Northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim on Wednesday, and orange for Western Pomerania-Rügen, Western Pomerania-Greifswald and Schwerin;

the district and the Hanseatic city of Rostock as well as the Mecklenburg Lake District were colored red.
