Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the president today (Thursday) and offered his condolences on the death of his mother, the late Ora Herzog. Erdogan, who sent a letter of condolence a few days ago, personally asked to strengthen the president and his family.
President Erdogan said in a conversation that he understands the pain of losing a mother.
He added that he had heard wonderful things about the great work of the late Ora Herzog as well as about the important social initiatives that she promoted and led: "I believe you turned her pride in your service to the citizens of Israel," Erdogan said. Last night, the de facto ruler of the United Arab Emirates, Regent Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed and the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, also called the president and asked for their condolences.
The regent called the president, strengthened his hands and asked for his comfort at this difficult time.
Ben Zayed shared with the president that he sympathizes with his grief after losing his father.
He further added that he had heard many good things about his mother and that he was sure after hearing about her impressive and long-standing work that her name would be immortalized with due respect.
The head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, also called the president and asked to convey his condolences to him and his family: "There is no doubt that a loss if it is a very severe loss. I ask to share your grief."
President Herzog thanked on his behalf and last name for the gesture and words of comfort.
