Gravel extraction is possible in Pelka (municipality of Hohenkammer).
Now the municipal council had an application.
But it was rejected because the project is too small.
Hohenkammer
- Close to the Pelka district, the Hohenkammer municipality has created the planning prerequisites to make gravel extraction possible on land that is currently used for agriculture. Now the application has been made to be able to mine natural resources in a sub-area. If Ernst Kauer voted in favor of the project, the project was rejected. Now the district office has the last word.
The municipality of Hohenkammer has created the planning prerequisites for a concentration of gravel mining in the municipality and formulated a condition that the measure must be carried out on at least five hectares with a width of 80 meters or more.
The measure now applied for is significantly smaller.
Municipality managing director Marco Unruh explained to the municipal councils that the defined requirements of the municipality are not being met.
The municipality does not want to impair the landscape too much and therefore prevent several small measures with gravel mining on the at least five hectares.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Ernst Kauer was the outlier from the ranks of the municipal council and showed no understanding for the arguments of the mayor and administration: "A small hole spoils the landscape no differently than a big hole." In addition, the requested dismantling is more than half of the a good five hectares, "which is fine with me". Kauer went on to argue that an operator cannot be expected to reach agreements with all landowners. Ultimately, however, the committee followed the administration's point of view and rejected the gravel extraction with 13: 1 votes.
Now the case is to be examined by the Freising District Office and there you have to assess whether too small a size of the mining area is sufficient as a reason for rejection.
Should the district office take a different point of view, the municipal council would have to deal with the application again.
The administration is currently waiting eagerly to see how the higher authority evaluates the case.
