The corona incidence in Munich is skyrocketing.
Is another lockdown looming now?
Actually, the rules are clear.
Update January 12th, 10.19 a.m.:
Is the state capital threatened with drastic corona measures again?
The State Chancellery is already considering whether a regional full lockdown with a seven-day incidence of more than 1000 is still appropriate.
“Does the delta logic also fit on Omikron?
That is the key question that arises, "said Florian Herrmann (CSU) at a press conference on Tuesday.
Lockdown measures (such as the closure of restaurants and all cultural sites) would be mandatory if the incidence is over 1000 - in accordance with the current infection control measures regulation.
Corona lockdown for Munich, although the rules are no longer “up to date”?
Munich is still a long way from this (see original report), but experts expect a real explosion in the corona numbers in the coming days.
Apparently the state government wants to raise the limit for regional lockdowns, of 3000 had already been whispered in well-informed circles.
The Council of Ministers will discuss this in the next week.
But what happens if Munich “cracks” the 1000 incidence mark this week?
Will lockdown measures then come into force even though the State Chancellery considers them to be no longer “up to date”?

Corona: Omikron dominant variant in Munich - 4123 suspected cases
Origin notification:
Munich - The seven-day incidence rises and rises and rises.
According to the RKI, the value for Munich * on Tuesday (January 11th) was 532.5.
For comparison: last Friday it was 305, the following Monday it was 476.9.
There were higher incidences on Tuesday in Bavaria only in the Starnberg district and in Würzburg.
Of course, the aftermath of the holidays also plays a role here.
On the one hand, there were fewer tests and, on the other hand, there were more encounters * through family celebrations.
Another reason for the rapid increase: the highly contagious Omikron variant.
In the past two weeks, 4123 suspected Omikron cases were reported to the health department and only 1142 cases of the other variants.
It is clear: Omikron has established itself as the dominant variant in Munich.
This is also shown by the figures from the Becker laboratory.
The laboratory community examines several hundred corona-positive PCR tests per week for the Omikron variant in the greater Munich area *.
Accordingly, the share of all positive cases last week was around 80 percent.
Before Christmas, Delta was still the determining variant with 72.5 percent.
