The Kazakh opponent Mukhtar Abliazov, indicted in France for suspicion of embezzlement to the prejudice of the BTA bank in Kazakhstan, obtained Thursday (January 13) the abandonment of the proceedings because of the statute of limitations, AFP learned from sources close to the case, confirmed by a judicial source.

It's a great victory after all the hardships he and his family went through
," his lawyer, Me Karim Beylouni, told AFP.
The lawyers of the bank having announced to AFP that they had filed an appeal in cassation, the decision of the Paris Court of Appeal is therefore not final.
