Lin Shunchao, who is an ophthalmologist himself, also wrote to the secretariat to apply for overdue membership. In the letter, he said that the work of the House Committee is very important, but he was worried about the conflict of working hours, so he did not apply to join. Now he has re-examined and adjusted other work.

After the chairman and vice-chairman are elected, late applications will be accepted

Before amending the Rules of Procedure and the House Code, all Members, except the President of the Legislative Council, must join the House Committee and the Finance Committee.

However, after the amendments to the "Regulations", it is no longer mandatory for members to join the internal committee and the financial account, but it is stipulated that there must be no less than 50 members.

As for the accounting department, 6 members did not join within the deadline, including the Liberal Party chairman Zhang Yuren, who was promoted to the most senior member, the establishment "squad leader" Liao Changjiang, the Democratic Alliance Wu Yongjia, Lin Zhexuan, Chen Manqi from the electoral committee, real estate and construction sectors Dragon sign.

According to the "House Rules" and the "Finance Committee Meeting Procedures", if a member joins the committee late, he or she can only apply for late participation in the committee after the relevant committee has elected the chairman and vice-chairman.

As to whether the application is accepted or not, it is up to the relevant committee to decide, emphasizing that the application can only be accepted if there are sufficient reasons, and also stipulates that Members who have overdue to join the committee shall not request the re-election of the chairman of the committee or the re-election of the chairman or Vice-President.
