A 16-year-old cyclist equipped with a Deliveroo delivery bag was killed Tuesday evening in Lille in an accident with a truck, AFP learned Thursday, January 13 from the prosecution and the DDSP.
According to the Departmental Directorate of Public Security, the 57-year-old driver felt a jolt when he restarted his vehicle at a traffic light.
He then got out and saw the teenager's body in the back, along with the delivery platform bag.

Called on the spot, the emergency services were unable to resuscitate the victim.
The driver was released Wednesday at the end of his police custody, said the Lille prosecutor's office, which was for its part not able to confirm that the victim was indeed carrying the famous bag.
"
Deliveroo only works with major delivery partners
," said the group, contacted by AFP, which says it "has
made contact with the investigators
" to offer its help.
Among the hypotheses, according to a source close to the file, is the possibility that this minor cyclist could have worked with the account of a delivery man.
