The General Corporation for Road Transport in Damascus has started maintenance and replacement works for the metal bisectors that mediate the Damascus International Airport road.
In a statement to SANA, Eng. Ahmed Atallah, director of the Road Transport Branch in Damascus, stated that the Corporation has started maintenance work for the damaged sites only, whereby the metal bisectors falling on the ground will be replaced back and forth along the 22-kilometer Damascus International Airport road.
Atallah indicated that these fairings are a protection for road users and aim to reduce speed, avoid collisions in the lane and avoid damage to the second side of the road in the event of an accident or collision, in addition to obligating pedestrians to cross the specified pedestrian bridges.
Atallah called on drivers and road users to be careful and reduce speeds, especially at work and maintenance areas.
