Miqdad Latari: Syria continues to support the rights of the Palestinian people and their defense of their land and sanctities

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Miqdad affirmed Syria's continued support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their honorable struggle to defend their land and sanctities.

During his meeting today, Minister of Agriculture of the State of Palestine, Riyad Atari, and the accompanying delegation, Minister Miqdad pointed out that Syria believes in the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on their land, and that land is the essence of this conflict, and the steadfastness of Palestinian farmers on their land is the first front to resist the occupation and preserving rights.

Dr. Miqdad condemned the settlement policies and annexation of lands, pointing out that food security, whether in Syria or Palestine, depends mainly on the agricultural sector, and steadfastness in the face of unilateral coercive measures is one of the important indicators of that.

For his part, Minister Atari stressed the importance of this visit in order to unify efforts in the framework of scientific research between Syria and Palestine in order to achieve progress and development of the agricultural sector in the two countries, expressing his appreciation for the ACSAD initiative at the invitation of the Palestinian side, stressing that the Ministry of Agriculture in the State of Palestine is the first line

To defend Palestine because the Palestinian land is the basis for the cause, and preserving and upholding it is a priority for Palestine.

In a statement to reporters, Minister Atari explained that the meeting was fruitful and dealt with the most prominent events in the West Bank, especially the continuous attacks by the occupation entity and the blockage of the political horizon, noting Syria's supportive stance for the Palestinian cause in all forums.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Othman Saab, Director of the Department of Arab Affairs, Roaa Sharbaji and Wissam Al-Nahhas from the Minister’s office, and on the Palestinian side, Abdullah Lahlouh, Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Ezz El-Din Abu Arqoub, Director General of International Relations at the Ministry of Agriculture, and experts from the ACSAD Center. .

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nasr El-Din El-Obeid, Director of the Arab Center for Studies of Arid Zones and Arid Lands (ACSAD).
