The proposals for what should become of the building vary widely.

The old station building in Langenbach is still empty.
But soon it will be filled with life.
There are already many ideas - and very different ones.
Langenbach
- In the municipality of Langenbach, efforts are being made to fill an old building with life: The old station building, which was built in the mid-19th century, is to be renovated and made accessible to the public again. Citizens have until January 15th to submit proposals to the municipality. Some suggestions for future use have already been made on the Facebook page of the Freisinger Tagblatt.
The ideas range from accommodation for the homeless to a community center for social clubs and associations to - quite pragmatically - a “small waiting hall with a DB shop where tickets and travel needs can be purchased and information about train journeys can be obtained”.
A user would wish for a village shop.
Mayor Susanne Hoyer's wishes for a bakery or a café go in a similar direction.
In any case, it should be a meeting place for the general public.
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.
Langenbach's CSU local chairman Thomas Holst has also commented on the topic, but his plans for the area look completely different: “My opinion on the basic topic is not that euphoric - from my professional experience in the public real estate sector, I know that building in the inventory 'causes considerable additional costs, especially as a public client.
Added to this is the location of the construction site, which is unfavorable for the construction period (due to the railway line) and, to my knowledge, the load on the signal box, which has not yet been fully clarified.
That's why I'm almost certain that this project can't be presented in an economically reasonable way." Holst's suggestion: "I therefore advocate clearing the building site and a much smaller new building with a kiosk and toilet."
Art project planned in the planning phase
However, it will be some time before that happens.
During the planning phase, the building in the town center is to be optically upgraded at least once: the councilor and painter Christine Stein would like to design the windows together with artists from the region.
A first meeting is planned for Friday, January 14th at 4:20 p.m. in front of the building.
Anyone wishing to take part in the art project is invited to come by spontaneously.
