Carefully calculated and pleasantly surprised: Grasbrunn follows this route in its finances.

This year, too, the municipality has investment leeway thanks to a tax plus.

Grasbrunn

- Mayor Klaus Korneder (SPD) was satisfied with the budget figures presented by treasurer Sebastian Stüwe for 2021 and 2022.

More business and income taxes than expected offer investment scope.

However, the increase in personnel costs since 2011 has been enormous.

"As always, we are planning the year 2022 and the following very carefully," emphasized Korneder. “We always do well with it, and almost every year we have more money available than planned. Then there won't be any surprises and we can always afford what we've set out to do. ”This year, that's 140,000 euros for the fire brigades in Harthausen and Grasbrunn, plus the remaining one million euros for the final work on the new gym. For the renovation of Zornedinger Strasse 1.2 million euros are planned, for the expansion of Harthauser Weg in Grasbrunn 75,000 euros. In Harthausen, the community is building 18 apartments with underground parking; 660,000 euros are earmarked for retrofitting the street lighting to LED with a subsidy of 370,000 euros.A block-type thermal power station will be built in the basement of the school for 640,000 euros, and eight new electric charging stations for around 200,000 euros, 140,000 euros will be returned as subsidies. In addition, this year the municipality is repaying 217,000 euros of the roughly 605,000 euros in debt. "If things go as planned, we will therefore be debt-free in 2024," said Korneder, not without pride. Investments totaling 3.7 million euros are planned for 2023 to 2025, primarily for road renovation, land acquisition and residential construction.7 million euros planned, mainly for street renovation, land acquisition and housing construction.7 million euros planned, mainly for street renovation, land acquisition and housing construction.

"The community should counteract these two developments"

However, personnel costs have risen dramatically in the past ten years, by 85 percent.

This year, at 7.7 million euros, it is again 7.6 percent more than in the previous year.

According to the administration, this is due to tariff increases as well as the labor market and Munich allowances that the municipality pays.

It is also worth considering how business expenses are growing steadily.

The material costs amount to 4.6 million euros, above all the maintenance costs for municipal buildings, land, streets, green spaces and sports facilities.

The increase results from four new buildings in the past few years.

“The municipality should counteract these two developments with a conceptual review,” said treasurer Sebastian Stüwe.

The total budget for 2022 is 32.3 million euros, slightly higher than in the previous year, mainly because of the costs for the planned residential building in Harthausen.

300,000 euros will be added to the budget and 1.5 million euros will be withdrawn from the reserve.

The savings account at the beginning of 2021 was 14.7 million euros and at the end of the year - despite the construction of the gym - it was still 14 million euros.

The trade tax income in 2021 was a good 13 million euros, significantly higher than calculated, for 2022 Stüwe is only planning around ten million euros.

The share of income tax was also higher than expected at 6.5 million euros; a slightly reduced rate is assumed for this year.
