Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed, during a telephone conversation, the process of starting the agreed withdrawal of the forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization from Kazakhstan.
"The President of Kazakhstan reviewed the measures that are being taken to complete the restoration of order to the country in light of the effective operations of the collective peacekeeping force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," TASS news agency quoted a statement from the Kremlin press service as saying.
The statement added that the beginning of the agreed withdrawal from the territory of Kazakhstan was discussed.
The Russian Defense Ministry had announced earlier today that the first units of the Russian landing forces from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) forces left Almata Airport to the permanent deployment point.
