Following the December rains, there has been a marked improvement in the relative condition of precipitation.
Since there were not many rains in early December, the amounts accumulated in the north and the northern coastal plain from the beginning of the season exceed the average in the corresponding period last year.
The trend is particularly pronounced on the central coastal plain, with quantities in excess of 150% of the average.
In the Gush Dan area, the amount of precipitation even reaches almost twice the average in the corresponding period last year.
According to the Meteorological Service, there is still a shortage of rain in the eastern and southern parts of the country.
Thus, for example, in the southern coastal plain, in the Judean mountains and in the northern Negev, only about half of the amount of rain fell compared to the same period last year.
