In the district of Ebersberg near Munich, the incidence on Wednesday is higher than anywhere else in Bavaria.

- On Wednesday, January 12, the district of Ebersberg not only recorded an enormous increase in the corona incidence *, but also rose to the top of the highest incidences in Bavaria.

This is what the numbers from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) at 3:20 a.m. show.

With a value of 635.7, the incidence in Ebersberg is higher than in any other place in the Free State - even though the district had not even exceeded the 500 mark the day before.

But the development was foreseeable, as the numbers have risen sharply across Germany since the holidays.

And the fifth corona wave was also seen rolling in days ago in Ebersberg.

And that in a district where the number of fully vaccinated people has still not even reached the 70 percent mark.

District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß was among the numerous infected people in recent days, despite the booster vaccination in mid-December.

Experts are certain that the strong increase in numbers will continue in the coming days.

If this is the case, the district of Ebersberg could soon come dangerously close to the 1000 incidence.

From this value, so it was said in the last Corona resolutions, local lockdown rules apply again in individual districts.

Lockdown in the district of Ebersberg: So far, politicians have not commented on the hotspot rule

It is currently questionable whether this will actually be implemented.

Klaus Josef Lutz, President of the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BIHK), demanded an increase in the lockdown limit on Tuesday in Munich in view of the expected explosion of numbers with the Omikron variant of the corona virus.

So far, no statement has been heard from government circles.

At a press conference on Tuesday, however, the state government announced, among other things, the deviation from the nationwide 2G-Plus rule in gastronomy.

It is possible that easing could follow in other areas as well.
