Miesbach - A large contingent of emergency services rushed to the Miesbach high school on Thursday afternoon (January 13th).

Several students had complained of shortness of breath.

Initially, six schoolgirls from two fifth grades suddenly complained of nausea and a strong, tickly cough in the gym's locker room.

"Shortly afterwards, three other children had similarly severe symptoms, so that the school immediately notified the emergency services," reports Christian Redl, deputy head of the Miesbach police station.

A large number of emergency services, the fire brigade as well as the police and the district administration arrived at the school shortly afterwards and took care of the students who had meanwhile been evacuated from the gym.

In addition to a treatment center, where the affected children were cared for by several emergency doctors, the Bavarian Red Cross and the police set up a care center for the uninjured pupils and the parents who had notified them in the school.

Six of the injured students were taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

16 other students who complained of slight irritation of the respiratory tract were cared for by doctors and the ambulance service at the school.

The dangerous goods troops from the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters and the fire brigades from Hausham and Tegernsee, which were subsequently alerted by the Miesbach fire brigade, and which have special measuring devices for detecting hazardous substances, were unable to determine any causal substances during the measurements carried out under respiratory protection in the gym and the changing rooms.

The police inspection Miesbach has taken over the further investigations into the cause.

At around 2 p.m., the all-clear for the gym complex was finally given and the on-site operation gradually ended.
