The Stiko is issuing a new vaccination recommendation: Now children and adolescents should also be able to be boosted.
Berlin - The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) now recommends a third corona vaccination * for children from the age of twelve: "The current situation with the sharply increasing Sars-CoV-2 case numbers due to the Omikron variant and the feared consequences for the health system in Germany, makes an expansion of the vaccination campaign necessary ”, it says in a statement.
It also states that the Biontech / Pfizer vaccine * is recommended "in the age-appropriate dosage" for the age group of 12 to 17 year olds.
The Robert Koch Institute announced this on Thursday afternoon (January 13th, 2022).
