Sonthofen - Self-tests at home are not recognized in Sonthofen’s municipal day-care centers.

Parents now wrote an indignant letter to Mayor Wilhelm.

Since the beginning of the week, daycare and kindergarten children have to be tested for Corona on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

With the Kita entitlement certificate, parents receive free self-tests in the pharmacy, which they can use to test the little ones at home.

The facilities are free to choose whether to present the negative test cassette or a signed confirmation from the parents as proof of testing.

Things are different in Sonthofen’s urban day-care centers

There, in the morning before kindergarten, the children have to go to a test center or to the pharmacy three times a week to be tested.

Children are only allowed to attend the day care center with proof of a public test station.

Anonymous letter to the mayor

Some parents protest.

A group of parents wrote an anonymous letter to Mayor Wilhelm, which was presented to the district messenger.

In it, the city's approach is criticized as an “imposition” for the children and a “special challenge for working parents”.

Dear Mayor Wilhelm,

we are a group of concerned parents whose children go to one of their day care centers for care. We want to remain anonymous as we are concerned that our writing could negatively affect our children.

First we want to say that we are not anti-vaccination ... everyone is vaccinated / boosted.

We understand, of course, that a porter has to take measures in the special situation that could also be cumbersome for us parents in order to be able to guarantee a "certain security".

Despite everything, we consider the current approach to be very difficult to implement.

Our children should be tested 3 times a week by strangers. In the meantime, our children have bravely put up with the testing by us parents, and now they should let strangers put a stick in their noses in the future.

What an imposition!

Especially when you consider that the children are already suffering from this situation and cannot understand all of the measures.

A particular challenge for us working parents will of course be to find a free test station in order to meet the obligation to provide evidence.

Please don't get us wrong, we think it's good that tests are carried out, but work, children, household etc and now also testing 3 times a week, that will be very difficult for us parents.

Do you no longer trust us parents, or why is a rapid test with negative evidence no longer sufficient?

Why is it not possible to take a pool test like in other institutions?

Why is a test requirement compulsory for a test station only in urban day-care centers ... with the others, you trust your parents ...

Do you have to make life even more difficult for our children and us than it already is?

Thank you very much for your attention,

concerned parents
