So far, the carnival season has had no consequences for the Corona lockdown in 2021.

Fortunately, from the point of view of the masked provocateurs, the responsible district office is busy with other things.

Mittenwald

– The people of Mittenwald love the Fosnocht. But even in this Corona year, there are increasing signs that the much-loved "nonsensical" - if at all - will recently be very spartan. Nevertheless, just in time for Epiphany, there are a few Maschkera on the way. But Gungl evenings with dashing music in the relevant taverns also seem illusory in view of the current hygiene guidelines and above all because of the curfew at 10 p.m.

The appearance of some masked people at the Nonsensical Thursday 2021 proved that the carnival under the Karwendel cannot be reduced even under difficult conditions. As a reminder: In February almost a year ago, the republic was in the second corona lockdown.

To the annoyance of many Werdenfelsers, carnival activities were completely prohibited by the state under threat of penalties.

Nevertheless, something stirred in Mittenwald.

Although the bell stirrers did not jump around the center at the stroke of 12 o'clock, the windows of some houses opened.

A few masked people looked out, shouting, growling or making music.

However, three Maschkera shot the bird, disguised as gendarmes or farmers, complete with scraper, jacket and strong overbite, leading the cow Resi through the village – the cattle wore calf socks and a traditional hat. The sign that they carried with them read in large letters "Resi caught stirring the bells!" For some it was a carnival joke, for others, the law enforcement officers, a sheer provocation when it was snowing. And the police, who at the time had been ordered to stop any kind of nonsense about the nonsensical, took action in front of the running television camera and stopped the coup with the cow.

It's been a long time – to be more precise: eleven months. What were the consequences of the bizarre appearance with the bell stirrer Resi? Mittenwald's police chief Hubert Hohenleitner is noticeably reserved. “The events have been submitted to the relevant prosecuting authority for review. It is therefore important to ask the district office what the current status is.” That's it, the head of inspection does not want to say more in the Causa Kuh.

The district authority in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is of course aware of the matter, but is obviously playing for time.

The process could not be finally processed, among other things due to the "mass of reports" that have been received by the district office since the beginning of the corona pandemic, authorities spokesman Stephan Scharf lets know.

According to him, there is no urgent need for action.

"The limitation period in this matter is three years, so there is still enough time for the final processing."

One of the three Maschkera affected, Christof Kriner ("Guff"), confirms: "I haven't received anything yet." Will he be active again this year on "nonsense"?

"I haven't thought about that yet, I'm still in Christmas mode."

In any case, the people in Mittenwald will be following the punishment of the Resi case by the district office with interest.

Because that same prosecuting authority had made an example of them during the first lockdown in May 2020.

Because some committee members had illegally met for a short meeting in the clubhouse in Schwarzenfeld, they were shortly afterwards fined a hefty four-digit number by the district office.

Back then, processing was noticeably faster.
