Various theatrical and artistic performances, through which the Children's Theater Festival returns to launch again, coinciding with the mid-school holiday in Damascus and the governorates during the period from 15 to 22 January.
Theatrical groups affiliated with the National Theater and the Children’s Theater participate in the festival, which the Directorate of Theaters and Music in the Ministry of Culture used to hold annually, and a private one that will present about 38 works between the theater of adults and children, puppets, puppets, dance performances and shadow phantoms in the governorates of Damascus - Damascus Countryside - Daraa As-Suwayda - Hama - Tartous Aleppo - Lattakia - Homs - Hasaka - Deir Ezzor.
In Damascus, Al-Hamra Theater will host the Fella and the Seven Dwarfs show, which the children watched in the previous session of the festival, in addition to an artistic performance by Ajyal Band. A show entitled “Kingdom of the Bees” will be presented on the puppet theater, written by Iman Bazarbashi and directed by Khoshnaf Zaza.
In the cultural centers of Damascus, the Kafar Sousa cultural hosts three shows: Tom and Jerry, Arnoub Al-Hakim and Farfush, while the Al-Mazzeh play Ali Baba will be shown, and the Jaramana plays Farfush, Arnoub, the forest guard and the flower grower.
In the governorates, four performances will be presented on the stage of the Directorate of Culture in Homs: The Three Wishes, the Faithful Guard, Masha, Corona, Fulla and the Dwarves, while the stage of the Directorate of Culture of Hama will host two shows, The Snow Princess and the Wonderful Box.
The National Library in Aleppo will present four shows: Gedo Ghassan TV, prepared and directed by Ghassan Makkansi, “Cartoon Forest Tales”, “The Cultured Chicken” and “Magic Words”, while the National Theater in Tartous will present a work by Ninar Ensemble titled “The Joy of Childhood”, the plays of the inhabitants of the island and the farm, and the adventures of monkeys And a puppet theater show entitled The Adventures of Zizou.
In Lattakia, the children’s audience will watch three shows on the stage of the Directorate of Culture: the shark, the kingdom of the sea, Cinderella and the guest of love, while the Daraa governorate will witness performances in two cities, where the theater of the Directorate of Culture hosts a well-known cobbler and the enchanted forest, while it presents in the cultural Al-Sanamayn, a homeland in the heart and the kingdom of dwarves.
In As-Suwayda, the children will follow a performance by the Shadow Shadow Theater as a product of the recently trained Al-Makhayleen team, in addition to the Golden Cup show on the stage of the Directorate of Culture.
As for Deir ez-Zor, through its theatrical troupes, it participates in three performances on the stage of the Directorate of Culture, which are the farm of happiness, the evil teddy bear, and Qadam and Lemona.
On the sidelines of the festival, the Directorate of Theaters and Music is holding a Child and Puppet Theater workshop for children and young adults entitled “I and My Shadow”, under the supervision of artist Reem Al-Khatib, starting tomorrow at Al-Hamra Theater.
