Three injured, high property damage: After an accident on Friday morning, the Starnberg-Gilching state road was closed for almost two hours.

Oberbrunn

– The low sun indirectly triggered a serious accident on the Oberbrunn/Unterbrunn bypass on Friday morning.

Three people were slightly injured, the property damage is very high.

The course of the accident is quite unusual. Shortly before 9 a.m., a Gilchinger (54) was driving his BMW in the direction of Starnberg when he was suddenly blinded by the low sun a few hundred meters north of the exit to Oberbrunn (Oberbrunn-Süd) - and braked. A Graefelinger (19) in the BMW behind him apparently did not recognize this, according to Gauting's police chief Andreas Ruch, and drove into the other BMW without braking. The Gilchinger's BMW was pushed into the opposite lane, which forced a parcel driver (41) from Wessling to make a sharp evasive maneuver. The vehicles obviously brushed against each other. The van then left the road to the right, overturned and remained on its side in the ditch. The Wesslinger was able to free himself from the vehicle, neither were the other two trapped.

All three of those involved suffered lacerations, bruises or shock and were taken to the Starnberg Clinic by the ambulance service.

A rescue helicopter had also landed.

The state road was closed for almost two hours, fire brigades from Ober- and Unterbrunn, from Hochstadt and Hadorf took over traffic control.

All three vehicles had to be towed.

The property damage is high: According to police estimates, it is around 100,000 euros.
