Poles commemorate those who died from the coronavirus

Because their recommendations in the corona crisis were not sufficiently taken into account by the Polish government, most of the government advisors for the pandemic have resigned.
13 of the 17 members of the Corona Advisory Committee resigned on Friday due to the "lack of influence" their recommendations had on the government.
The announcement was published by the Polish news agency PAP.

The medical advisors accused Warsaw of “increasingly tolerating the behavior of sections of society that deny the threat posed by Covid-19 and the importance of vaccination to combat the pandemic”.
Government members and other high-ranking employees have also denied the risks of a corona infection.
The government had taken "only very limited measures" to counteract the increase in cases in the fall, criticized the advisors.
The cabinet has failed to "confront the threat posed by the Omicron variant, even though the number of deaths predicted is alarmingly high."
The move came days after the country of 38 million people surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths.
According to the Polish Ministry of Health, around 21.3 million citizens have received two vaccinations against the coronavirus.
More than eight million have been boosted.
Government explains departure differently
The government presented the departure of the experts differently. In a statement it was said that the format of the panel had been exhausted.
The experts feared the threat of corona deniers - but would remain in contact with the government.
Several members of parliament from the right-wing nationalist ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) have openly spoken out against corona vaccinations.
