The Japanese airline Star Flyer is considering launching a new service called "Fly with your pet"

.

The initiative as part of the industry's desire to recover from the economic losses caused by the corona virus.

Today, Japanese law only allows guide dogs to stay in the cabin, the rest of the animals are kept in special facilities in the trunk.

As mentioned, the large losses caused to the airlines with the outbreak of the corona plague (in the case of Star Player, the loss amounts to $ 23.4 million), caused the CEOs of the companies to examine how to increase the number of passengers and thus profits. In the amount of dogs and cats that the Japanese keep in their homes.

According to the Association of Pet Food Companies in the country, as of October 2020 the number of dogs kept as pets has increased by 58,000 animals.

A similar trend was also recorded in the field of cats, which increased by an additional 67,000.

Star Flyer said: "Many passengers have expressed concern that the animal is being held in the trunk of the aircraft, so we have thought of a plan that will allow them to board their cabin with their pet. We are also looking for unique services, through which we will achieve a new passenger segment."

In practice, each flight has 150 passengers, when only one passenger will be allowed to board with his pet.

He will be able to give the animal food and water, and she will be required to wear a diaper, to prevent bad odors.

In addition, you will not be allowed to walk with her in the terminal or on the plane itself.

The size of the animal will be limited to a length of up to 50 centimeters, a width of up to 40 centimeters and a height of up to 40 centimeters.

Issues such as allergies of other passengers to animals and changes in Japan's aviation regulations are still open.
