Booster vaccinations over 50 percent mark

Schleswig-Holstein has a high rate of booster vaccinations compared to the rest of Germany.
At the same time, the omicron variant of the coronavirus continues to spread.
The north also occupies a leading position in terms of incidence.

In the meantime, more than every second person has received a booster vaccination.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the rate was 50.7 percent on Friday (8 a.m.).
The rate in the age group 60 and older is 76.5 percent.
Among 18 to 59 year olds, 50.4 percent have received a booster vaccination and among 12 to 17 year olds it is 10.5 percent.
Schleswig-Holstein currently has the second highest value for booster vaccinations in Germany after Saarland with 54.8 percent.
Nationwide, the RKI gives a value of 45.9 percent.
According to the RKI, 77.0 percent of the population in the northernmost federal state are fully vaccinated.
78.6 percent received at least one vaccination.
The number of new corona infections reported within one day rose to a maximum in Schleswig-Holstein.
On Thursday it was 4317 - after 3739 on Wednesday and 3470 on Thursday a week ago, according to data from the state registration office in Kiel.
The seven-day incidence hit 664.3 on Thursday.
The day before, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants was 655.4 within seven days, and 458.0 on Thursday a week ago.
Compared to the other federal states, Schleswig-Holstein is still in third place behind Bremen and Berlin in terms of the seven-day incidence, according to the Robert Koch Institute.

The hospitalization incidence, which is important for corona measures and indicates how many corona patients per 100,000 people came to clinics within a week, rose from 3.54 to 3.78.

In Lübeck it fell from 1009.5 to 876.7 within a day.
The Stormarn district had the lowest incidence in Schleswig-Holstein with 392.7.
