The corona regulations in Bavaria have not been tightened for the catering industry.

2Gplus still applies to cultural events.

Not the only problem for artists

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – One industry breathes a sigh of relief, the other feels left out: the decision of the Bavarian state government that the 2G rule will continue to apply in gastronomy is causing some cultural organizers annoyance.

Significantly stricter restrictions apply to them, such as compulsory testing and limiting the number of visitors.

"Of course that's unfair," says Assunta Tammelleo.

Not "that I don't begrudge the restaurateurs," emphasizes the operator of the Kulturbühne Hinterhalt in Gelting.

But the exceptional situation for art stages, which has now been going on for almost two years, is getting on my nerves.

The ambush has been organizing many concerts and readings since the beginning of the pandemic, which can be followed via live streams on the Internet, “but with a mask, distance and 2Gplus, there is hardly any mood among the guests who are still allowed to come”.

You can hear Assunta Tammelleo's frustration.

"You reach your limits," she says, "not just financially, but also morally."

Wolfgang Ramadan is worn down: "Have stopped advance sales"

Wolfgang Ramadan, organizer of the subscription series "Brotzeit und Spiele" is, in his own words, "worn down". For almost two years "we've been working without results," says Ickinger. Events would be planned with great care in compliance with all applicable rules and then not carried out because new requirements would be added. “We have stopped advance sales for all planned performances. Everything has been prepared, and yet we have to move it. You feel like Sisyphus.”

Ramadan considers this a "great injustice".

Because scientific studies would prove that it is safe to go to the theater or to a concert.

"We are the first to be locked down and are the last to be allowed to unlock again." The latter would be possible at any time: "At the push of a button," says Ramadan, he could get started, but the restrictions would make cultural enjoyment economically impossible.

"It's just not feasible for free cultural organizers under such conditions." It's not just him as an artist and organizer who suffers.

"The audience asks what's next." It hurts him that he can't give an answer.

“We are incredibly grateful to the guests.

Without her, it would have been the end of all of us a long time ago.”

Culture: Concerts and cabaret are postponed again because of Corona - artists are dissatisfied

Christian Gutmair is also troubled by the uncertainty. Among other things, he organizes concerts and cabaret evenings in the Tölzer Kurhaus. He will reschedule all events that he had planned until March. "We have now postponed some of them for the third time," he complains. The 2Gplus rule, which still applies to culture, is not the only stumbling block, but above all the limitation of the number of viewers. "We can cover our costs with 60 to 80 percent utilization - you can calculate what 25 percent means for us." The recurring argument that the culture can take place, but has to adhere to restrictions, "is therefore nonsense ", says Gutmair and sums it up in simple words: "I'm dissatisfied with the overall situation."

KKK Lenggries: The organizer understands the corona protection measures - but complains about unfairness

Sabine Pfister doesn't want to say it in such a general way.

The Lenggrieserin, who organizes events with KleinKunst & Kultur, or KKK for short, expresses her understanding.

"I think that protective measures are needed in the current pandemic situation." But the fact that these are handled completely differently in individual industries rankles her.

One possible reason: "The gastronomy sector is simply a lot louder than we are." Pfister doubts whether a visit to a restaurant is automatically safer than a cultural event: "We have families sitting at a great distance from other households, while in the restaurant there are ten strangers at one table allowed to sit."

Because of Corona regulations: cultural organizer has the lawsuit checked

Pfister does not think that a large-scale easing makes sense, "but if we could fill at least 50 percent of the places, it would be a start".

The 2Gplus rule, which is currently being discussed controversially, "I think it's okay," she says.

After all, caution is still required so as not to increase the incidence of corona.

So far it is unclear how the industry will continue.

Discussions are currently underway between the state government and cultural workers.

Wolfgang Ramadan says: “The wires are glowing at the moment.

We try a lot together to be able to offer art again.” He hopes for a positive result.

Assunta Tammelleo is more skeptical: "We are currently having lawyers check to what extent we will not also file suit for non-equal treatment," she writes in a circular.

Exit: open.
