Bavaria waives the 2G Plus rule in hospitality establishments.

A restaurateur from Bavaria is now closing anyway.

The reason is the constant confusion of rules.

Eichenau

– Although Bavaria is going its own way and, unlike 14 federal states, is not using the 2G-Plus rule, a first restaurateur in the district is taking action and temporarily closing his restaurant because of the Corona crisis.

Thomas Breitenfellner will close the "Flori" in Eichenau from January 17th until at least March.

The 39-year-old Gröbenzeller is reacting to the "growing uncertainty" in the population due to the confusion of rules.

It doesn't take much imagination to guess that things are only going to get worse.

In his home town of Gröbenzell, he wants to continue running the five-hour-a-day tavern in the “old school” that he also manages for the time being.

It's different in Puchheim, where the gastronomy and media entrepreneur runs the "Brotspielerei" in the PUC cultural center.

There, as in the "Flori", daily operations are now suspended, visitors are only served during events.

Corona in Bavaria: No 2G plus in restaurants - restaurateur locks anyway

Around 40 employees are affected by the closure, who now have to forego a large part of their income as mini-jobbers or permanent employees.

"We made the decision in agreement with them," emphasizes Breitenfellner.

The past two Corona years with enormous sales losses would have cost the staff a lot of strength.

Among other things, because they would have to constantly check the vaccination status of the guests.

The break should now be used to start the spring business with fresh impetus.

As a bridging measure, Breitenfellner plans to employ or train some employees in the "Flori" with minor renovation and beautification work in the garden area.

There can therefore be no question of a permanent closure.

"The 'Flori' is perfectly healthy, only dealing with the virus is sick."
