Dominique Reynié: "Globalization threatens the democratic order after having consecrated it"

is under unprecedented pressure since the 1930s. 30 years after the fall of the wall of Berlin, is democracy in decline?

According to Freedom House, of the 41 countries consistently classified as “free” from 1985 to 2005, 22 have experienced sharp declines in freedom over the past five years.

This process of regression does not spare the democratic groups which seem more solid.

We remember that, significantly, the year 2021 ended with a “summit of democracies” initiated by President Joe Biden.

And indeed, the democratic world feels the new threat…
