Eve de Castro: “What is exciting is the human under the marble”

INTERVIEW – The novelist has just published her novel, L'autre Molière, at Éditions l'Iconoclaste, where she evokes a writing pact which would have linked Pierre Corneille and Molière, these two great figures of French theater in the 17th century.


Did Corneille write Molière's most famous plays?

The idea is not new.

It was launched in 1919 by a Pierre Louÿs who liked to be noticed, has since been relayed by semantic studies which corroborated it before being themselves invalidated by others.
