The diplomatic week had started badly for Europe. Left on the sidelines of discussions between Russians and Americans on the future of the continent and its security, she feared to bear the brunt of the new Yalta that Vladimir Putin wanted to impose on Joe Biden during the talks in Geneva, then in Brussels. It was probably in France - because of the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, organized without consultation with the allies, then the betrayal of Aukus, the new Anglo-Saxon alliance in the Indo-Pacific, which torpedoed the subcontract -sailors with Australia - that the frustration of being pushed to the sidelines was the strongest. It is in Eastern Europe, on the other hand, that the fear of possible American concessions has been strongest. But for all, the week ended on a note of optimism.
