In Hamburg, the new quarantine regulations for infected people and contact persons will come into force from this Saturday.

"In fact, we will implement 1:1 what the Federal Council has initiated," said Senator for Social Affairs Melanie Leonhard (SPD) on Friday.

Hamburg – From Saturday the following will also apply in Hamburg: FFP2 in buses and trains, on ferries, in taxis and in MOIA vehicles.

The traffic authority announced that the masks with the particularly high filter effect would also have to be worn in the bus stop areas.

For young passengers between the ages of 6 and 13, a medical mask is still sufficient.

The new quarantine rules decided by the Federal Council stipulate that contact persons of corona infected people who have been vaccinated three times no longer have to go into quarantine.

This also applies to people who have just been double-vaccinated or who have recently recovered.

In addition, shorter quarantine times are made possible in the event of infections in order to prevent a collapse in personnel in important care areas in view of the increasing number of infections.

In the future, infected people or contact persons who do not meet the requirements for quarantine exemption can be freed after seven days with a PCR test or a certified rapid antigen test.
