Kochel am See
- Fire in a sauna in the Kristall-Therme Trimini: The fire brigade in Kochel am See was alerted to this alarm on Thursday evening.
As reported by the fire brigade, a sauna oven "in the largest and probably also the most beautiful sauna" of the Kristall-Therme caught fire while the sauna was in operation.
"The employees reacted exactly right and evacuated the affected area," said the fire department.
Wearing heavy respiratory protection, three respiratory protection teams went into the Herzogstand sauna and found one of the sauna ovens in a heavy fire.
The furnace was opened and extinguished using a C-tube.
Rapid intervention prevented the fire from jumping onto the wood paneling.
"With a smoke curtain used, the other parts of the pool were shielded from the toxic smoke during the extinguishing measures," reports the fire brigade.
All areas and false ceilings were scanned with the thermal imaging camera.
People were not harmed.
According to the fire brigade, the fire was caused by a technical defect.
