Not only lateral thinkers and opponents of measures are demonstrating in the district.

Marthe Balzer explains how she wants to let the silent majority, who think differently, have their say.

Ebersberg - The alliance "Buntstatt Braun" invites you to the Ebersberg Marienplatz with the initiative "Respekt @ Poing" for next Saturday, December 15th, from 11 a.m.

Under the motto "Through the pandemic with solidarity and science!" They want to commemorate the sufferers and victims of the pandemic with a non-partisan rally.

Marthe Balzer, spokeswoman for "Buntstatt Braun" Ebersberg, on walks, right-wing extremism and science.

Events by the opponents of the measures are nothing new in the district.

Why this rally now?

We were approached with multiple requests to set an example for solidarity and cohesion.

Remembering the people who died of Corona or who suffer from the long-term effects.

And of course also to all those who have done great things in healthcare over the past two years.

Their demo was billed as a "quiet event".

What can that mean?

We don't want to chant, we want to make it visible: The vast majority in the district behaves in absolute solidarity.

She keeps her distance, gets tested and vaccinated, of course wears a mask and doesn't feel terribly restricted in her basic rights.

Our aim is to give this large, silent majority a platform.

Spokeswoman for "Buntstatt Braun" makes it clear: Not all walkers are Nazis

How does "colorful instead of brown" fit into the game?

Are all right-wing extremists on the walks?

No.

Not everyone who walks there are Nazis.

There are normal people there too.

And of course you can demonstrate.

But it is also not a problem to distance oneself from right-wing extremists.

Running off without knowing who is behind it, or clearly setting yourself apart, is viewed very critically by many.

Especially because many right-wing extremists are also calling for it.

Many critics speak of a split.

Do you see them too?

I do not think so.

The really biggest demonstration takes place every day in our vaccination centers and doctor's offices.

In comparison: How many people go for walks and how many do not go for walks?

I would say the majority don't.

This is precisely why this rally is deliberately non-partisan and is very well supported by the democratic parties in the district.

We stand together as a society.

A planned assembly against assemblies: According to the alliance, there is no contradiction

Science currently advises avoiding accumulations.

Doesn't that contradict the event?

We also thought long and hard about whether and how we could do that.

That's why the event is outdoors, we pay attention to the measures and expect the same from each of our participants.

For example, we were not given a mask requirement, but we are still calling for it.

We agreed with the police and made sure that we really had a lot of space and that people could keep well apart.

If fewer people show up than during the walks, wouldn't that be wind on the mills of the opponents?

Yes, it's difficult.

But the feedback on the event so far has been exceptionally large and positive.

And it is important for the participants to see that there are many people who also stand with me.
