The High Court issued an interim injunction in 2019 against the dissemination of incitement to violence on Liandong, Telegram and other online media.

The then Yuen Long District Councillor Ho Wai-bin, who violated the injunction, posted on Facebook in 2020, inciting others to commit violent acts against the police and the staff of the then-unestablished Homeland Security Department.

Ho was charged with contempt of court and pleaded guilty in the High Court today (14th).

The case was adjourned until February 28 for a plea and sentencing.

Ho Huibin, who has resigned as a district councillor, was asked outside the court if he was worried about the sentence.

The court revealed that Ho posted the relevant Facebook post on May 22, 2020, and later received letters from the Department of Justice and the police requesting the removal of the post, which was removed on the 31st of the same month.

It is reported that the content of the post is accused of inciting others to commit violence against the police and staff of the then-unestablished National Security Service.
