A huge fire broke out today in Kuwait's Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery, causing severe burns among the workers. A statement issued by the Kuwait National Petroleum Company, reported by KUNA, stated that the damaged unit at the refinery was out of service and the refinery's operations or export operations were not affected by the fire.
The company indicated that 10 people were injured, including 5 severely burns, as a result of the accident. The company announced last September the start of an environmentally friendly project that includes increasing the refining capacity of the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery to 346,000 barrels per day.
