The Indian government today attributed the plane crash that killed the country's Chief of Staff, Bipin Rawat, last month to a sudden change in weather conditions, ruling out the possibility of direct targeting of the plane or assassination of the Indian official.
Reuters quoted a statement issued by the Indian government that the preliminary investigations conducted by an investigative court set up by the Indian armed forces revealed that the crash that killed the Chief of Staff of the Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat and 13 people with him was due to a sudden change in weather conditions and thick clouds in the sky.
Rawat was among 14 passengers aboard an Indian Air Force helicopter that crashed last December and caught fire after hitting a hillside in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
