Actually, there should have been a relaxed atmosphere all over Denmark on January 14th.

On this important day, the entire nation wanted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her government with her likeable regent.

Unfortunately, Corona thwarted the plans.

An extensive event is now to be made up for in late summer.

Queen Margrethe had to be content with a smaller party for the time being, but all her loved ones were by her side and celebrated her properly.

The red carpet was rolled out in front of Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen to greet the royal anniversary guests in a fitting manner.

Some Royal fans had also gathered there to cheer their head of state.

Queen Margrethe II celebrates her golden jubilee:

At the celebrations in Parliament, Margrethe was able to receive congratulations from the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (44).

In addition to the monarch, Crown Prince Frederik (53), Crown Princess Mary (49), Prince Joachim (52), Princess Marie (45) and Margrethe's sister Princess Benedikte (77) attended the reception.

Actually, Anne-Marie of Denmark (75), the second sister of the regent, should have been present.

Due to the corona infection of her husband Konstantin von Greece (81), she was unable to travel from Athens to Copenhagen, much to her regret.

(72, † 1972) and Queen Ingrid (90, † 2000) in Roskilde.

All other program items had been cancelled.

At the big anniversary celebration in September there will be a festival service and a gala dinner, among other things.
