The Nuremberg game fair has been canceled and is moving online this year.
Interested parties can meet and exchange ideas on an online platform.
Nuremberg – 2022 the toy fair in Nuremberg* will only take place digitally.
A spokeswoman for the trade fair confirmed this to the
BR
studio in Nuremberg.
The reason for this is the omicron variant of the corona virus*, which made the general conditions significantly worse.
At the “Digital Toy Fair”, visitors are to meet on the original date on an online platform, which the trade fair organizers, according to
BR
, had developed in parallel with the face-to-face trade fair.
The Nuremberg Toy Fair for the toy industry was originally supposed to take place from February 2nd to 6th.

Nuremberg: spokesman for the board of directors explains the situation
The press conference at which the innovations are to be presented will also take place online: "We fought hard to hold the face-to-face event and initially received strong support from the global toy markets," explains Christian Ulrich, spokesman for the board of directors of Spielwarenmesse eG. In the end, however, the organizer had no choice but to cancel the 2022 toy fair in Nuremberg * because more and more suppliers had canceled their stands.
Trade fairs also had to be canceled in other areas.
The beverage fair BrauBeviale, planned for November 8th to 10th this year, is cancelled, the fair announced on Friday.
"In this way, we are reacting to the concerns of the market at an early stage and are giving the industry planning security," the organizers said.
The next BrauBeviale is now scheduled to take place in Nuremberg in November 2023.
The Biofach, one of the world's largest trade fairs for the organic sector, is not taking place as usual.
It was postponed from mid-February to the summer and is now scheduled to take place in Nuremberg from July 26th to 29th, as the organizers also announced on Friday.
